U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings By Model - January 2016

The Ford F-Series topped all pickup truck lines despite a 5% year-over-year decrease. With the Ford decline, GM was once again able to produce an overall pickup truck sales victory and a full-size victory with its twins. The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra outsold the F-Series by 704 units. GM sold 60,022 pickup trucks in total.

The new Chevrolet Colorado's first year-over-year decline, a 7% drop to 5508 units, helped the Toyota Tacoma produce even greater market share.

Small/midsize truck volume was up 4.8% to 26,860 units in January 2016. The Tacoma's share of the segment jumped to 47.3% from 44.5% in January 2015.

Full-size truck sales, meanwhile, rose 0.9% to 141,891 units, equal to 84% of the truck category overall. GM owned 36.8% of the full-size truck market.
