Good Car Bad Car has tracked what actually sells since March 2007. We publish automotive sales data for the United States and Canada by brand, model, automaker and segment, monthly and annual, alongside coverage of China and Europe and a global explorer spanning 141 countries. Dealers, analysts, journalists, suppliers, investors and enthusiasts come here for the same reason: to see what is selling, what is not, and how that is changing.
What you will find here
- US sales data. Every brand and model, by month and by year, with history back to the mid-2000s, plus rankings by segment and automaker. Start at the US Auto Sales Hub.
- Canada sales data. Brand, model, segment and automaker figures from 2004 onward, in the Canada Automotive Sales Hub.
- China and Europe. Brand and manufacturer figures for the world’s largest market and for Europe, with coverage expanding market by market. See the China and Europe hubs.
- Global Auto Sales Explorer. Annual sales for 141 countries from 2005 to 2024: volume, market share, sales per 1,000 people and growth rates, on an interactive globe.
- News and analysis. Reporting on the forces behind the numbers: pricing, tariffs, electrification, recalls and manufacturer strategy, written from the data rather than from the press release.
Where the numbers come from
Our figures come from the automakers’ own sales releases, from industry associations such as the CPCA and CAAM in China, and from government registration data in markets where manufacturers do not report directly. Every figure on the site traces to a source, and when a manufacturer revises its numbers, we revise ours.
Corrections
If a figure looks wrong, tell us. Email [email protected] with the page and the number in question. We check it against the source, and if we got it wrong we fix the page and say so.
Free data, paid experience
The sales data on this site is free and stays free; advertising pays for it. A membership, $29 a year, removes every ad, adds monthly interactive sales dashboards with CSV export, the weekly insider newsletter, exclusive analysis and the full article archive back to 2015. More than 500 members support the site this way, and their fees fund the tools we build next.

Who runs Good Car Bad Car
Good Car Bad Car is published by Leetone Enterprises LLC, a Colorado company that acquired the site in 2025. We are a small team, and we run the publication with data pipelines and AI tools that gather, check and draft, with people deciding what gets published. That is how a site this size covers this much ground.
