2019 U.S Large Luxury SUV Sales Analysis
Report Updated: With all 2019 Sales Data on January 3rd, 2020
Top Level US Reports: By Manufacturer / By Brand / By Model / Best Sellers
The large luxury SUV market saw sales rise in 2019. It actually saw several models that saw significant rises in sales.
When you look at the month of December, you’ll see that the segment was actually up by about 3,700 units. When you look at the 2019 sales numbers for the whole year, you’ll see that the segment was up 25,000 sales. That’s a significant amount for a segment that does only about 150,000 sales overall.
Leading the pack was the Cadillac Escalade. It was down both for the month of December and 2019 as a whole, though. The Mercedes GLS-Class was in second place, and the BMW X7 was in third. We’d imagine BMW could overtake Mercedes next year.
As for the segment as a whole in 2020, we expect sales to continue to be strong. Large luxury SUVs are selling well, and they’re better than they’ve ever been before. 2020 should be another good year.
Data will trickle in throughout the day with the numbers being finalized by EOD. GCBC is also happy to announce that we will be adding quarterly sales reports and comparisons in addition to monthly sales comparisons beginning this quarter. We will also be adding monthly sales tables and charts to the mix as well.
Note: FCA US LLC will end its practice of reporting U.S. and Canada sales on a monthly basis following June results. FCA US and FCA Canada will report monthly sales for May and June. The first quarterly report will occur on October 1, 2019, covering the months of July, August, and September.
