Kia Niro
Here you will find monthly and yearly United States and Canadian sales figures for the Kia Niro. The Niro is Kia’s compact electrified crossover, launched for the 2017 model year and rebuilt on a second generation for 2023. In the United States it has been sold as a hybrid, as a plug-in hybrid and as the battery-electric Niro EV, but the lineup is narrowing: the plug-in hybrid ended after the 2025 model year, and Kia has confirmed that the 2027 Niro will be offered exclusively as a hybrid. Canada continues to list all three versions.

Kia has announced a facelifted 2027 Niro with revised front and rear styling, a panoramic curved display, an added S trim and unchanged running gear. The Niro EV charges at up to 100 kW on a DC fast charger and 11 kW on alternating current.
Kia Niro Sales in the United States
Kia Niro sales in the United States have moved in waves rather than a straight line. The nameplate arrived at 27,237 units in 2017 and held close to that level in 2018 before easing to 24,421 in 2019 and a low of 17,434 in 2020. Demand recovered to 26,192 in 2021 and 29,176 in 2022, a year interrupted by the changeover to the second-generation car: July and August each recorded 643 units and September just 191 as the outgoing model ran down. The redesign then produced the best year in the dataset, 36,300 units in 2023. Volume settled to 30,094 in 2024 and edged back up to 31,182 in 2025, a gain of about 4 percent helped by a November that reached 5,230 units, the single strongest month the Niro has recorded in this market. Through June 2026 Kia has sold 13,767 Niros, well ahead of the 11,788 delivered over the same six months of 2025.

Kia Niro Sales in Canada
Canada has been the Niro’s growth market. From 1,590 units in its 2017 debut the nameplate built steadily to 4,403 by 2021, then fell to 1,234 in 2022 when second-half supply all but stopped during the generation change, with monthly totals in single digits from July onward. The rebound was immediate and has been sustained: 5,581 units in 2023, 6,867 in 2024 and 10,021 in 2025, a rise of roughly 46 percent and the best year on record for the Niro in Canada. That momentum has carried into 2026, with 5,449 sales through June against 4,493 over the same six months of 2025.
