2025 Best Selling Pickup Trucks In the United States (All Models Ranked)
The pickup truck segment continues defying predictions of decline, growing nearly 10% year to date through November 2025. Total segment volume has reached 2.33 million units, up from 2.12 million during the same period last year. Americans are buying more trucks, not fewer, and the competitive dynamics at the top have shifted dramatically.
Ford’s F-Series leads the segment at 620,580 units through November, up 12.7% year over year. The crown remains secure, but the gap has narrowed. GM’s full-size truck portfolio tells a different story than individual model rankings suggest. The Silverado alone sits at 425,669 units, but combined with the Sierra at 257,992, GM’s full-size twins have sold 683,661 trucks this year. That’s 63,000 more than F-Series. The badge engineering strategy that frustrates purists delivers real results for GM’s market share math.
Toyota’s Tacoma represents the year’s most dramatic turnaround. The all-new generation has driven a 61.2% surge to 204,464 units, vaulting Tacoma past both Tundra and the entire midsize competition. Ford’s Ranger followed a similar trajectory, climbing 57.4% to 48,278 units as buyers embrace a refreshed design with hybrid options. The midsize segment revival suggests consumers want truck capability without full-size dimensions.
The electric truck experiment continues yielding mixed results. Tesla’s Cybertruck has accumulated 22,100 sales year to date, up 16.3% from 2024’s partial-year launch. Rivian’s R1T has moved just 5,100 units, down 30% from last year. Neither threatens the internal combustion establishment, but Cybertruck’s volume puts it ahead of several traditional competitors including Hyundai’s Santa Cruz.
Nissan’s Titan provides the starkest warning sign for legacy products that don’t evolve. Sales have collapsed 83.4% to just 2,024 units for the year. The truck is effectively discontinued in all but name, awaiting its official death certificate. Meanwhile, Ram sits at 262,386 units, down 2.3%, as the brand prepares its next-generation lineup for 2025.
