GMC Canyon

Here you will find monthly and yearly United States and Canadian sales figures for the GMC Canyon. The Canyon is GMC’s mid-size pickup and the corporate sibling of the Chevrolet Colorado. The current third-generation truck arrived for the 2023 model year with a single turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a crew-cab-only body and a lifted, wide-track chassis across the range.

GMC rates the Canyon at up to 7,700 pounds of towing, with the AT4X limited to 6,000 pounds and fitted with selectable front and rear electronic locking differentials plus a three-inch factory lift.

GMC Canyon Sales in the United States

GMC Canyon sales in the United States ran from 34,845 units in 2005 down to 7,992 in 2010 as the first-generation truck aged, then all but disappeared during the gap between generations, with just 929 units in 2013 and 3,070 in 2014. The second generation restored the nameplate immediately, reaching 37,449 units in 2016 before settling into the mid-20,000s. The third generation dipped to 22,458 in its 2023 changeover year and then produced the dataset high of 38,486 units in 2024, with 36,170 following in 2025, down about 6 percent. 2026 has been the strongest start on record: 22,299 units through June, roughly 22 percent ahead of the same period in 2025 and comfortably on pace to beat the 2024 peak.

GMC Canyon Sales in Canada

Canadian Canyon volume followed the same shape, falling from 5,382 units in 2006 to a token 34 in 2013 before the second generation lifted it back above 6,000 by 2018. The third generation has pushed it higher still: 6,781 units in 2024 and then a dataset record 7,119 in 2025, a gain of about 5 percent. The first half of 2026 has been slower at 3,055 units against 3,587 a year earlier, a decline of roughly 15 percent.
