Hyundai IONIQ 9 Sales in the United States

Hyundai delivered its first IONIQ 9 to a customer on 30 May 2025, and the monthly series starts in that month with 302 units. Volume climbed quickly, passing 1,000 units a month from July and holding near 1,050 through September. October, November and December then came in at 317, 315 and 380. The 2025 total of 5,189 units therefore covers eight months of selling rather than a full year, and the fourth quarter reads as a change of pace rather than a continuation of the ramp. 2026 has been much stronger. Through August the IONIQ 9 has recorded 6,147 units, already clear of the whole of 2025 with four months still to report, and May at 1,145 units is the best month the nameplate has posted.

Hyundai IONIQ 9 Sales in Canada

Canadian sales opened in April 2025 and the model closed the year at 1,434 units, a little better than a quarter of the American figure despite the shorter selling period, with its strongest month to date coming in October at 228 units. 2026 is running well ahead of that pace: 1,139 units through August against 587 over the same eight months of 2025, a gain of about 94 percent.

Day 198 — Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority published an updated list of 77 vessels it accuses of violating its Strait of Hormuz protocols, saying listed ships face fines, detention or confiscation and warning insurers, P&I clubs and classification societies against serving them (Iran International and Insurance Journal, Sep 14; Middle East Monitor, Sep 15). US Central Command said an IRGC claim that a supertanker struck mines in the strait was false; neither account is independently confirmed. Houthi forces said they struck the Khamis Mushait air base in southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline entered a fifth day shut. AAA's national diesel average set a 12th consecutive record at $6.2694/gal and California diesel set a fresh state record at $8.2124/gal.
