2022 Best Selling Passenger Cars In China (All Models Ranked)
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), total passenger car sales in China in 2022 were 26.86 million units, down 2.4% from 2021. This was the first decline in Chinese passenger car sales since 2019. The decline in sales was due to a number of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the global semiconductor shortage, and rising fuel prices.
Despite the decline in overall sales, there were a number of passenger car models that sold well in China in 2022. The top 5 best-selling passenger car models in China in 2022 were. the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, BYD Song, Tesla Model Y, BYD Qin Plus, and Geely Boyue Pro. These models are popular among Chinese consumers due to their affordability, fuel efficiency, and advanced features.
