Iconic musician Bob Dylan surprises us all and markets, both himself and Cadillac, in an XM/GM commercial. It’s available for viewing below. The most uncool part of this advertisement has to be the fine print that pops up in the bottom left: “Optional equipment shown”. So tacky.

Tiger Woods, Kelly Ripa, Jimmy Kimmel, Jeff Gordon – and now Bob Dylan. It’s hard to convince anyone that Cadillac Escalade’s are a necessary part of life. But there’s no denying the built-in cool factor, a strong dose of panache, a heavy-duty dollop of gross excess. Bob Dylan enhances these things. You can read The Good Car Guy’s favourable review of Cadillac’s CTS, but the CTS just wouldn’t have looked right in these ads. Not with Bob Dylan. It needed to be the ‘Slade.
