2019 U.S Commercial Van Sales Analysis

Report Updated: With October 2019 Data on November 1st, 2019

Commercial van sales in the U.S. for October looked strong, but we don’t have all of the data due to Ford, GM, and FCA’s quarterly reporting practices. The companies are an extremely important part of the segment, and without their models, we can’t really get a good read on how things are progressing.

With that said, the segment has performed extremely well so far this year. Much of this growth we would assume is due to all of the online commerce that’s occurring. With online commerce only going to increase in the coming months and years, we would expect van sales to stay high.

Of the models that we do have data for, sales look strong. One model that stands out id the Mercedes-Benz Metris. The van’s sales were up nearly 53 percent for the month of October and up by over 59 percent YTD. While other models’ sales likely won’t be that strong, the should still be good.
