2025 U.S Midsize Car Sales Figures By Model (With Rankings)

Sales Figures & Rankings for Midsize Cars Sold in the United States

2025 Best Selling Midsize Cars In the United States (All Models Ranked)

The Toyota Camry owns this segment. With nearly 290,000 units sold through November 2025, the Camry outsells its closest competitor by more than two to one. The 2025 model year brought a complete redesign that moved the Camry to hybrid-only powertrains in the United States, a calculated bet that efficiency matters more than a base-model price advantage. So far, buyers have agreed.

The Honda Accord holds second place but trails significantly, down nearly 9% year-to-date. The Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, and Kia K5 round out the volume players, each serving buyers who want a traditional sedan experience at competitive prices.

This segment keeps shrinking. The Chevrolet Malibu ended production in late 2024 after decades as a mainstream staple. The Mazda 6, Volkswagen Passat, and Kia Stinger are already gone. Even the models that remain sell at fractions of their peak volumes from a decade ago, as buyers continue migrating to crossovers and SUVs.

Electric alternatives are arriving. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 brings a proper EV sedan to the segment, while the Toyota Prius continues its hybrid dominance with strong year-over-year growth. The Subaru Legacy persists as the only all-wheel-drive option in the mainstream segment, though volumes remain modest.
