Our Take

Fresh for the 2024 MY, the i5 is another bold statement from BMW as the carmaker pushes on with its electrification agenda. The i5 is a tech-fest-on-wheels with futuristic gadgetry and functions mostly accessed via a digital dashboard. More than that, though, the car also impresses with potent electric powertrains, luxurious cabin feel and a well-balanced handling.

  • MSRP: starts at $121,300 USD /  $163,275 CAD

Our Take

The BMW flagship is a 5,000-lb insane luxury rocket ship that redefines automotive luxury, style and performance. The 760i boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 instead of the inline-6 in the base model. It delivers plenty of power, making the big sedan accelerate like a sports car. A screen-heavy interior may not be to everyone’s liking, but a first-class cabin laid out with the finest quality materials is a definite plus.

Compared to earlier models, the latest iteration of the M2 is packed full of technology and fancy assists. However, the car continues to deliver a high level of driver engagement thanks to a superb blend of its potent powerplant, crisp handling and a near-perfect chassis setup. It’s no wonder that the car is regarded as one of the best modern BMW M cars ever built.

Our Take

The BMW i4 M50 closed out the first half of 2023 as the best-selling vehicle from BMW’s M division, edging out even its combustion engine counterparts. It’s a testament to how well BMW has put together the i4. The EV impresses with a styling that makes it look like just a regular BMW 4-series. Then there’s the well-tuned suspension, excellent handling and a high-quality interior layout.

  • Basic Warranty: 4 years /  50,000 miles (80,000 km)

Our Take

With the M8, BMW has been able to combine speed, style and comfort in one sleek package. For now, there’s only one powertrain option but with over 600 hp on tap, that’s more than enough for near-supercar performance. Add that to the car’s elegant looks and plush interior, and you’ve got a performance vehicle that will be hard to match in its segment.

2024 BMW X5 xDrive40i

Our Take

The BMW X5 was the top-selling model in the North American market for 2023, indicating just how popular the SUV has become. The premium SUV sports a refreshed look for the 2024 MY, including a revised front grille, bumper, headlamps, taillamps, and more wheel designs.
