2019 Canada SUV Sales Analysis

Report Updated: With October 2019 Data on November 4th, 2019

Top Level Canada Reports: By Manufacturer / By Brand / By Model / Best Sellers

SUV sales in Canada looked strong in the month of October. The segment has also seen strong sales so far this year, so YTD numbers also look strong.

The sales numbers for the month of October show that the segment was actually up about 4,700 units for the month of October. When you look at the YTD numbers, you’ll see that there have been about 32,000 more sales so far this year than there were by this time last year.

Leading the pack is the Toyota RAV4 with strong sales increases for both the month of October and YTD. It was followed by the Honda CR-V, which also saw a strong sales increase. Rounding out the top three was the Ford Escape, which was actually down significantly for both the month and YTD.

We expect future SUV sales in Canada to be strong, too. This should mean that the year finishes strong and 2020 continues to be good for SUV sales.

Data will trickle in throughout the day with the numbers being finalized by EOD. GCBC is also happy to announce that we will be adding quarterly sales reports and comparisons in addition to monthly sales comparisons beginning this quarter. We will also be adding monthly sales tables and charts to the mix as well.

Note: FCA US LLC will end its practice of reporting U.S. and Canada sales on a monthly basis following June results. FCA US and FCA Canada will report monthly sales for May and June. The first quarterly report will occur on October 1, 2019, covering the months of July, August, and September.
