Volkswagen launched the Taos in the United States during 2021, and volume built quickly. Deliveries rose from 31,703 units in that partial first year to 50,371 in 2022, 58,890 in 2023, and a peak of 65,876 in 2024. Sales eased to 54,884 in 2025, down about 17 percent from the high as the refreshed model arrived. Through June 2026 Volkswagen had delivered 17,789 Taos, running well below the prior year’s first-half pace.

In Canada the Taos has grown every year since its 2021 launch, climbing from 3,619 units in 2021 to 10,180 in 2022, 15,818 in 2023, 20,420 in 2024, and a record 24,286 in 2025.
