United States Automotive Market: Brand and Corporation Sales Rankings for December 2018
Here you will find the rankings of all the major automotive brands and corporations selling vehicles in the U.S market. Each month we compile the sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below. Note that the data trickles in throughout the day early in the month and we will update you in real time as we get the data.
Our Take Brand & Corporation Rankings
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is the company that seems to have had the greatest improvements. Ford and General Motors both saw declines in sales for the month of December and the year.
Subaru, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover and Tesla are the only other companies to have percentage increases for the month of December and the year.
Daimler took the biggest hit in the month of December and YTD, suffering a 16.10 percent decrease in sales YTD when compared to last year.
Tesla’s sales increases are directly tied to the fact that the company seems finally able to produce its Model 3 sedan at the rate it needs to. It will be interesting to see if it can keep production levels high.
From a brand standpoint, it looks like brands that have focused their recent efforts on crossovers, SUVs, and trucks made the most sales. This is a trend that’s likely to continue as 2019 moves along.
