Sitting at a kitchen table in Prince Edward Island, far from home, I notice a newspaper insert with shockingly low numbers.  Granted, this is a combination of at least two concurrent events; one being the rise of the Canadian dollar, the other being models that are at or near the end of their life cycle or lacking a large degree of desirability.  Or both.  Which would then be three concurrent events, wouldn’t it?  Yes.

Kia is advertising cash purchase prices of $9,995; $14,995; $15,495; $18,245; $18,445; $20,645; $26,995; $29,495 and $32,195 for the Rio; Spectra; Spectra5; Rondo; Sportage; Magentis, Sedona; Sorento; and Amanti. Yes again, these are base prices and are only on offer until the last day of March.  Indeed, the fine print is hefty. But these prices are sometimes many thousands of dollars lower than the MSRP listed on
That, in and of itself, is news.
