Our Take On The Pickup Truck Sales Numbers
Truck sales were down for the year and the month of December in Canada. In 2018, companies sold about 31,000 fewer models than they did in 2017. For the month of December, around 3,000 fewer sales occurred when compared to last year.
The sales volume leader was the Ford F-Series. It saw declines in sales for the year of 6.18 percent. For the month of December when compared with last years December sales, it saw a decline of 8.73 percent.
The most notable decline for both the month of December and the year as a whole was the GMC Sierra. It saw a drop in sales of 13.59 percent for the year and 29.09 percent for the month of December.
The Toyota Tundra, despite its aging design, saw a rise in sales both for the month of December and the year as a whole. December sales were up 10.93 percent and annual sales jumped 24.32 percent.
While four models saw sales increases for the year, most models saw decreases for both the year and the month of December.
