As the flagship brand of the Volkswagen Group, VW remained the top-selling car brand in Europe, with the Golf and Polo among the most popular models. Despite facing challenges in the European market, Ford remained a key player with models like the Fiesta and Focus proving popular. Renault continued to have a strong presence in Europe with cars like the Clio and Megane, as did Peugeot with its 207 and 308 among the popular models that year.
