2022 Best Selling Small City Cars In the United States (All Models Ranked)
Small city car sales in the U.S. were down 37% in 2022, with just over 29,000 units sold. This is a large decline in what is a small segment of the market in the U.S.
The decline in small city car sales can be attributed to a number of factors, including the rising popularity of SUVs, the increasing availability of electric vehicles, and the rising cost of living. The biggest factor however is the impact of COVID and more and more migration out of cities like New York and San Francisco as companies embrace remote work. Small city cars are also a good choice for drivers who live in urban areas, where parking can be limited, but if everybody is moving out of big cities, then there is no need for a city car.
