Kia K4 / Forte Sales in the United States
The U.S. chart opens with the first 10 Fortes in May 2009 and a partial first year of 26,328. The first full year, 2010, reached 68,501, and volume held between 66,136 and 78,919 a year through 2015. The second-generation car pushed sales past 100,000 for the first time in 2016, at 103,292, and up to 117,596 in 2017. Three softer years followed, ending at 84,997 in 2020, before a 33.0 percent jump to 113,051 in 2021. After 108,424 in 2022, sales climbed to 123,953 in 2023 and 139,778 in 2024, and the first full year of the K4 set the record at 140,514 in 2025, with May 2025 the best month on the chart at 13,870. Through September 2026 sales stand at 111,212, up 3.3 percent on the 107,643 sold in the same nine months of 2025, and September alone reached 12,658 against 8,829 a year earlier.

In Canada, sales began in April 2009 and reached 13,578 in 2010, the first full year. Volume stayed between 11,378 and 14,856 a year through 2016 and peaked at 16,388 in 2017. Sales held between 14,373 and 15,549 from 2018 through 2021, then eased to 11,942 in 2022, 11,690 in 2023 and 10,670 in 2024. 2025 rebounded 31.6 percent to 14,039. Europe Annual Growth
Kia Forte / K4 Generations
First Generation (2008-2013) Replaced the Kia Cerato in North America. Available as sedan and coupe (Koup). Engine options included 1.6L, 1.8L, and 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinders with manual or automatic transmissions.
Second Generation (2014-2018) Complete redesign with updated styling. Available as sedan, coupe (Koup), and hatchback (Forte5). Engines ranged from 1.6L naturally aspirated to 2.0L naturally aspirated and 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinders.
Third Generation (2019-2024) Final generation wearing the Forte name. Available in sedan and hatchback forms. Powered by either a 2.0L naturally aspirated (147 hp) or 1.6L turbocharged (201 hp in GT trim) four-cylinder.
Kia K4 (2025-Present) Complete redesign with new name. Larger dimensions and fastback-inspired styling. Base 2.0L (147 hp) or optional 1.6L turbo (190 hp in GT-Line Turbo). Hatchback variant expected for 2026 model year.
