2025 Best Selling Large Cars In the United States (All Models Ranked)
The large car segment looks nothing like it did three years ago. When Stellantis ended production of the Chrysler 300 and previous-generation Dodge Charger in December 2023, it marked the end of an era for affordable American sedans. The Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima had already exited the market in 2022 and 2023 respectively. What remains is a fundamentally different segment.
Toyota now dominates large car sales with the Crown, which launched in late 2022 as the spiritual successor to the Avalon. The sedan version has become the segment’s volume leader, while the Crown Signia crossover wagon (introduced in late 2024) appeals to buyers who want large car comfort in a more versatile package. Together, they represent the bulk of large car volume in America.
The Dodge Charger returned for 2025 as an entirely different vehicle. The new Charger is available as a battery electric vehicle or with Stellantis’s Hurricane inline-six, replacing the Hemi V8s that defined previous generations. Sales remain modest compared to the old Charger’s peak years when it regularly topped 90,000 annual units.
The Chrysler 300 still appears in the data as dealer inventory clears out, but those numbers will hit zero soon. Its departure leaves Chrysler without a sedan for the first time in the brand’s history.
