Here you will find monthly and yearly United States and Canadian sales figures for the Mini Cooper. The Cooper is the core of the Mini range, a front-wheel-drive premium small car sold as a two-door hardtop, a four-door hardtop and a convertible, and built by BMW since the brand was relaunched in 2000. In the United States BMW of North America reports those three body styles as separate lines in its quarterly sales chart, so the totals on this page combine them into a single Cooper nameplate figure, along with the small residual volume still recorded under the discontinued Cooper Clubman.

- Current engines: Cooper C with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 161 hp and 184 lb-ft, Cooper S at 201 hp and 221 lb-ft, and John Cooper Works at 228 hp and 280 lb-ft. United States cars use the 2.0L four exclusively, unlike the three-cylinder Cooper C sold in Europe.

There is no electric Cooper hardtop in the United States. The only battery-electric Mini offered here is the Countryman SE ALL4.
Mini Cooper Sales in the United States
Mini Cooper sales in the United States peaked early in this chart, at 54,077 units in 2008, and the nameplate has been working down from that high ever since. Volume held between 39,000 and 49,000 through 2013, then slid steadily across the second half of the 2010s to 22,123 in 2019 and a low of 18,684 in 2020. A short recovery carried the Cooper back to 22,970 in 2021 and 20,974 in 2023 before the changeover to the current generation pulled 2024 down to 14,626, the weakest year in the dataset. 2025 marked a modest turn back up, at 15,691 units, a gain of roughly 7 percent. Through June 2026 Mini has delivered 7,437 Coopers in the United States against 8,244 over the same six months of 2025, running about 10 percent behind last year’s pace.

Mini Cooper Sales in Canada
In Canada the Cooper follows a later and flatter arc than it does in the United States. Volume climbed from 1,732 units in 2004 to a first plateau near 4,500 around 2010, dipped, then reached its high of 5,915 in 2016. The decline that followed was steady rather than sharp, taking the nameplate to 2,739 in 2020 and a low of 2,152 in 2024. As in the United States, 2025 brought a small recovery, to 2,311 units, up roughly 7 percent year over year. Through June 2026 Canadian sales stand at 1,011 against 1,142 a year earlier, about 11 percent lower.
