The F-150 Lightning was introduced in May 2021 as part of the fourteenth-generation Ford F-Series. The carmaker cleverly wrapped the EV platform in an already familiar body style, and it’s a move that’s helped the F-150 Lightning gain some traction in the pickup segment. There are several trims available, but the Flash Extended Range is a desirable sweet spot with many desirable features like the 15.5-inch entertainment screen and extended battery pack.

The pony car is arguably Ford’s most iconic car, one that’s been the face of the brand for over six decades. For years, the F-150 Raptor has been Ford’s pickup formula that successfully mixes top-notch performance with off-roading capabilities. The 2023 model year is no different. The performance truck packs a host of features that make it even more capable than ever. Now, there’s an even more formidable Raptor R with a supercharged V8 under the hood. It’s more expensive, but if you are going for the Raptor, you might as well settle for the ‘King of the Hill.’

Our Take
For the most part, the Explorer is like most full-size SUVs – roomy and practical. The ST trim level adds some excitement to the mix, thanks to its fiery 400-hp V6 engine. It’s the only way to really enjoy the driving experience of what is otherwise just a regular SUV.
