2022 Europe Automotive Sales by Automaker – The Best-Selling Automotive Manufacturers By Sales Volume
The best-selling auto manufacturers in Europe in 2022 were the Volkswagen Group, Stellantis, Renault Group, Toyota Motor Corporation and BMW Group. These five manufacturers accounted for over 40% of all new car sales in Europe in 2022. The overall European auto market in 2022 was down 4.1% from the previous year, due to a number of factors, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and supply chain disruptions. However, there were a few bright spots, such as the electric vehicle market, which grew by 20% in 2022.
Volkswagen Group remained the best-selling auto manufacturer in Europe in 2022, thanks to its popular brands such as Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, SEAT, and Porsche. Stellantis decently well in 2022, as did Renault Group, Toyota Motor Corporation, and BMW Group. Overall, the European auto market in 2022 was a challenging one. However, there were some positive signs, such as the growth of the electric vehicle market. The market is expected to continue to recover in the coming years, as automakers invest in new technologies and consumers switch to electric vehicles.
