With 2017 making it five record years in a row for the Canadian auto market, new vehicle sales volume crossed the two million threshold for the first time after an almost 5% growth in demand in calendar year 2017.
The Ford F-Series grew its sales by 6.8% to remain the clear leader. The Ram pickup’s sales grew faster, at 9.8% year-to-date, but more additional F-Series’ were sold than Rams in Canada.
In third place, the Honda Civic remains Canada’s favourite passenger car, with the Honda growing its sales by 6.9%.
The Dodge Grand Caravan fell to tenth place in the year-to-date stakes, with two pickups, two crossovers, a passenger car and an SUV filling in the space between. The Grand Caravan’s drop in sales came after a slow fourth quarter of sales.
