John Cooper Works is only about as British as Rolls-Royce and Mini these days. The famed Mini tuner is a slave to BMW; as are the others.
For 2009, JCW kits were available to the regular and Clubman versions of the turbocharged Minis. Unfortunately, the brake discs fitted to these John Cooper Works cars were inadequate 16-inchers. Simply put, they’re not up to the task of bringing Mini Coopers to a halt. Thus, NHTSA says, 560 of these cars are ready for a Recall. “Dealers will inspect the front brake discs and pads and, if necessary, replace them,” NHTSA says. For more on JCW Garages, click here.
