Lincoln Navigator Sales in the United States

Lincoln Navigator sales in the United States opened this chart at 25,844 units in 2005 and then fell hard, dropping to 14,836 in 2008 and bottoming at 8,018 in 2011 as fuel prices and the recession hit large SUVs. Volume recovered slowly through the 2010s and then stepped up sharply with the fourth-generation truck, reaching 17,839 units in 2018 and 18,656 in 2019. Supply constraints pulled the nameplate back to 13,206 units in 2022 before it recovered to 17,549 in 2023 and 17,217 in 2024. The redesigned Navigator then produced the strongest year in two decades: 22,185 units in 2025, a gain of about 29 percent and the highest total since 2005, with a 2,843-unit May and a 2,792-unit December leading the way. Through July 2026 Lincoln has delivered 12,049 Navigators, running about 8 percent behind the same seven months of 2025. One caution on the older data: August 2024 reads 3,271 units against a trend near 1,200 on either side, which inflates that year’s total.

Lincoln Navigator Sales in Canada

Canada buys the Navigator in far smaller numbers but follows a similar shape. Sales ran above 1,000 units a year in the mid-2000s, collapsed to 384 units in 2008 and reached a low of 295 in 2013. The fourth-generation truck lifted Canadian volume to 1,177 units in 2018 and a record 1,644 in 2019, after which the nameplate settled between 900 and 1,300. Lincoln Canada delivered 1,145 Navigators in 2025, up about 17 percent on 2024, with the year finishing strongly at 159 units in October and 154 in December against a monthly run rate closer to 80. Through June 2026 Canadian sales stand at 555 units, about 19 percent ahead of the same period a year earlier.

Lincoln Navigator Generations

First generation (1998-2002)

The first generation Navigator was based on the Ford Expedition and was powered by a 5.4L V8 engine. It was available in two trim levels: Base and Signature.

Second generation (2003-2006)

The second generation Navigator was also based on the Ford Expedition and was powered by a 5.4L V8 engine. It was available in three trim levels: Base, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Third generation (2007-2017)

The third generation Navigator was a major redesign and was based on the Ford F-150. It was powered by a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It was available in three trim levels: Base, Reserve, and Black Label.

Fourth generation (2018-present)

The fourth generation Navigator is the current generation and is based on the Ford T1 platform. It is powered by a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It is available in three trim levels: Standard, Reserve, and Black Label.
