The original Colorado ran through 2012, posting figures such as 128,359 units in 2005 before winding down, and the nameplate nearly disappeared during the 2013 and 2014 changeover, when volume fell to 3,412 and 8,003 units. The second-generation truck relaunched the Colorado in 2015 and rebuilt demand to a high of 134,842 in 2018. After settling into the 70,000 to 98,000 range through the early 2020s, U.S. sales reached 98,013 in 2024 and 107,074 in 2025, the strongest result since 2018. Through June 2026 Chevrolet had delivered 47,693 Colorados, running modestly behind the 52,815 sold in the first half of 2025.

In Canada the Colorado follows the same two-part pattern, with the first-generation truck fading to just 101 units in 2013 before the 2015 relaunch. The Colorado is available with three engine options: a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, a 3.6L V6 engine, and a 2.8L turbodiesel four-cylinder engine. It is available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It got a modern infotainment, safety features, and driver-assist technologies became available. Chevy continued with the Z71 off-road package and introduced the ZR2, an even more off-road-focused variant with unique suspension and design elements.
