It was available with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The HHR got an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

The HHR had a unique retro design that was inspired by the Chevrolet El Camino. It also had a spacious interior and a comfortable ride. The HHR was praised for its unique design, its spacious interior, and its comfortable ride.
