Volkswagen Tiguan Sales in the United States

Volkswagen Tiguan sales in the United States started modestly after the nameplate reached the market in 2008, generally staying below 47,000 units a year through 2017. The larger, long-wheelbase second generation transformed the picture in 2018, when deliveries jumped to 103,022 and then held above 100,000 for four straight years, peaking at 110,502 in 2020. The global chip shortage cut volume to 71,085 in 2022 before the Tiguan recovered to 76,227 in 2023 and 94,373 in 2024. Sales eased to 77,909 in 2025 as the outgoing model wound down and the all-new third generation ramped up. That changeover shows clearly in 2026: through June, Volkswagen had delivered 52,930 Tiguans in the United States, nearly double the 26,901 units sold over the same period a year earlier.
