The Nissan GT-R’s lineage can be traced back to the high-performance versions of the Nissan Skyline, which were first introduced in the late 1960s. The Skyline GT-R models became legends in their own right. However, with the R35 generation introduced in 2007, Nissan dropped the Skyline name, and the car became simply the Nissan GT-R, setting it apart as its own model.
The GT-R is often referred to by its nickname “Godzilla”, a nod to its Japanese roots and monstrous performance. It’s renowned for its use of advanced technology, including a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
