The Toyota brand came second overall in our brand rankings for calendar year 2017’s sales, and is another badge riding the wave of a strong surge in SUV sales.
Sales of vehicles wearing a Toyota badge rose by 0.5% to 2,129,383 sales for the calendar year 2017 over calendar year 2016. As a manufacturer, Toyota Motor North America, which includes both the Toyota and Lexus brands, sold 0.6% fewer vehicles overall in 2017 than 2016.
