Brazil’s car market, the largest in South America, experienced a significant decline in sales in 2015. The country faced a combination of economic and political challenges, including a recession, high inflation, rising unemployment rates, and political instability. These factors had a negative impact on consumer confidence and purchasing power, leading to a sharp contraction in car sales. This impact was felt across the region, where all but two of the markets saw a sharp decline in new passenger car sales.
