South American Passenger Car Sales for 2022

The South American passenger car market officially got back to growth in 2022, with all markets growing. While the growth isn’t huge, it is good to see that the market is back to over 2.5 million passenger cars sold. Once again, Brazil was the largest market by some margin, followed by Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

The indicator estimates the number of new passenger car registrations and sales that took place within a country in a year. Passenger cars are road motor vehicles, other than a motor cycle, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine persons (including the driver).
