Global Car Sales & Rankings by Region & Country for 2013
In 2013, global car sales experienced a modest growth compared to previous years, albeit at a slower pace. The automotive industry rebounded from the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 but still faced some challenges. The total number of cars sold worldwide in 2013 reached approximately 63 million units. This represents a 4.3% increase compared to the previous year (2012).
The Asia-Pacific region, particularly China, continues to be a major driver of global car sales. China emerged as the largest car market, accounting for over 25% of global sales in 2013. Other regions, such as North America and Europe, also experienced steady growth in car sales. Developing countries, particularly in Asia and Latin America, played a significant role in driving global car sales. The rising middle class and increased urbanization in these regions resulted in higher demand for automobiles.
