Mercedes-Benz GLA
Here you will find monthly and yearly United States and Canadian sales figures for the Mercedes-Benz GLA, marketed for much of its life as the GLA-Class. The GLA is the entry point to the Mercedes-Benz SUV range, a compact crossover built on the brand’s front-wheel-drive architecture and sold alongside the slightly boxier GLB. It reached North America for the 2015 model year and is now in its second generation. One reporting note applies to both charts: Mercedes-Benz USA publishes retail sales quarterly rather than monthly, so the monthly values below are a quarterly figure distributed across its three months.

- Current engines: GLA 250 and GLA 250 4MATIC use a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four with mild hybrid drive, rated at 221 hp and 258 lb-ft. The Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4MATIC uses an AMG-enhanced 2.0L turbo four at 302 hp and 295 lb-ft.
- Electrification: A 48-volt belt-driven starter-generator that can add up to 13 hp and 110 lb-ft on demand, and supports gliding, recuperation and stop-start

Mercedes-Benz held the world premiere of an all-new GLA on 29 July 2026. The 2028 GLA reaches United States dealerships in the second half of 2027 and will be offered with both all-electric and hybrid powertrains.
Mercedes-Benz GLA Sales in the United States
The GLA landed in the United States partway through 2014 with 4,877 units and hit its high immediately, at 25,593 in its first full year of 2015. It then held a remarkably flat band, between 24,100 and 25,400 units, through 2018, dipped to 22,136 in 2019 and recovered to 25,348 in 2020. The second-generation car has not matched that: volume fell to 14,323 in 2021 and bottomed at 12,621 in 2023 before a strong rebound to 19,080 in 2024. The 2025 total of 14,698 units carries an important caveat. January 2025 is missing from this dataset, so that figure is the sum of eleven months and should be read as a floor rather than a full year, which means the real decline from 2024 is smaller than the headline suggests. Through June 2026 the GLA has recorded 6,836 units; over the comparable February to June window it stands at 5,763 against 7,523 a year earlier, roughly 23 percent lower.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Sales in Canada
Canadian demand tracked the United States pattern for the first generation, rising from 534 units in the 2013 part-year to a peak of 4,400 in 2016, then sliding through the back half of the decade to 1,759 in 2020 and 1,523 in 2022. What sets Canada apart is 2025. After 1,879 in 2023 and 1,590 in 2024, Canadian GLA sales jumped to 3,543 units, more than double the prior year and the strongest result since 2016, at the same time as the United States market was moving the other way. That surge has not carried into 2026: through June, Canadian sales stand at 1,036 against 1,683 over the same six months of 2025, about 38 percent lower.
