BMW X5 Sales Figures

The BMW X5

Here you will find monthly and yearly U.S, Canadian, European and Chinese market sales figures for the BMW X5. The BMW X5 formula has stayed consistent since it was first released. Great performance, fun-to-drive dynamics similar to BMW’s sport sedans all in the body of a midsize SUV. BMW continues that tradition with every X5 update. The X5 now has “hot rod, hybrid, or family cruiser” options with multiple powertrains and set ups. While the styling is getting a little old for us (especially considering some of the new competition) it is still a handsome SUV.

BMW X5 Overview

The BMW X5 is a midsize luxury SUV produced by the German automaker BMW. The X5 is one of the earliest models in BMW’s X series lineup and has been a significant player in the luxury SUV market since its debut in the late 1990s. It is designed to offer a blend of luxury, performance, and versatility, making it a popular choice among luxury SUV buyers. It was introduced in 1999 as a replacement for the BMW Z1.

The BMW X5 features a modern and sophisticated design with the brand’s signature kidney grille and distinctive headlights. Over the years, the X5 has evolved through several generations, with each iteration incorporating the latest design language and styling cues from BMW. The BMW X5 is built on BMW’s CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform, which provides a balance of structural rigidity, performance capabilities, and weight savings. This platform also underpins various other BMW models, contributing to consistent engineering and design across the lineup.

BMW also offers higher-performance variants of the X5 under the M Performance and M models. The X5 M and X5 M Competition models provide significantly more power, sport-tuned suspensions, and other performance upgrades for an exhilarating driving experience. The BMW X5 competes in the midsize luxury SUV segment against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and Porsche Cayenne..

BMW X5 Sales Data & Trends

The X5 is available with a choice of four powertrains: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, and a plug-in hybrid. All models come standard with all-wheel drive. The X5 is known for its powerful engines, spacious interior, and advanced technology. Standard features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a panoramic sunroof. Available features include a head-up display, a night vision system, and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system. It is a big seller for BMW in markets thanks to its reasonable price and loaded kit.

BMW X5 L China Sales Data & Charts

Sales figures for the BMW X5L in China. Until early 2022, the X5 was imported into China and therefore not included in our statistics. Domestic Chinese production started in 2022 by the BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture at the upgraded Shenyang Dadong plant.
