After a 7.4% increase in sales year-on-year, SUVs took up 40.4% of the Canadian vehicle market last month.

The Honda CR-V led proceedings, finishing up the month 28% better off than the same month in 2017. The CR-V has cemented itself atop the Canadian SUV charts in recent months, with fellow Japanese SUV the Toyota RAV4 snapping at its heels.

Wrangler sales continue on a high, while the Mazda CX-5 was the month’s sixth-best-selling SUV in Canada.

Nissan’s mini-Rogue, the Qashqai, continues to attract plenty of attention in Canada – it inreased sales by almost nine times compared with last May, and year-to-date it sits just outside the top 10.
