Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Sales Figures

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class

Here you will find monthly and yearly sales data from the United States, Europe and Canada for the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is part of Mercedes-Benz’s lineup of SUVs and represents the brand’s entry-level offering in this segment. The GLA is essentially a compact luxury crossover SUV, blending elements of a traditional hatchback with those of an SUV.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Overview

The GLA was introduced in 2013 and was designed to tap into the growing market for compact luxury SUVs. It’s positioned below the GLC in the Mercedes-Benz SUV hierarchy. The GLA’s design borrows cues from the Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback but with increased ground clearance and a more robust appearance befitting an SUV. Inside, the GLA features a premium interior typical of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, with high-quality materials, an infotainment system, and other luxury amenities.

The GLA offers a range of powertrains, from fuel-efficient four-cylinder engines to more powerful options in the AMG-branded versions. The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45, for example, is the performance-oriented variant, boasting a turbocharged engine that offers significantly more power and sportier driving dynamics compared to the standard models.

The GLA has seen updates since its introduction, with the second-generation model being launched in 2020. This newer iteration brought about a more mature design, improved interior space, enhanced technology, and better driving dynamics. The current GLA-Class is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The GLA-Class has a starting MSRP of $38,850 in the United States.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Sales Figures

The GLA has been generally well-received, particularly for its blend of luxury features in a compact form factor. It’s popular among urban dwellers who appreciate its relatively compact dimensions for city driving while still benefiting from the elevated driving position of an SUV. Like other vehicles in its class, it faces competition from luxury compact SUVs from brands like BMW, Audi, and Lexus.
