Large Luxury SUV Sales In America – July 2015 YTD

During a year in which full-size, flagship, luxury SUVs are surging forward – first-half sales were up 31% – will July represent the beginning of a downward trend or will it stand out as a simple anomaly?

Overall Cadillac Escalade volume tumbled 25% compared with July 2014, when the latest generation of Cadillac’s big SUV was beginning its tenure. The Range Rover, up 40.5% this year, slid 21% in July. The much lower-volume Lexus LX570 and Toyota Land Cruiser both suffered declines, as well.

As a result, despite the gains produced by the Infiniti QX80, Lincoln Navigator, and Mercedes-Benz’s two big brutes, the overall picture was disappointing.
