Not only did Honda report a 45% year-over-year increase in CR-V sales in August 2013, Honda also stole the best-selling SUV crown from the Ford Escape. And not just for the month of August. The CR-V is now 1960 units ahead of the Ford Escape for year-to-date utility vehicle leadership in the United States.
This is where GM fans beg us to point out that combined sales of the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, fraternal twins for sure, totalled 36,193 units in August, 1539 more than Honda managed with the CR-V. August was a record-setting month for the Equinox and the Honda CR-V.
Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC’s Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of America’s best-selling trucks in August, the best-selling cars are coming up soon.
