Our Take On The Top 20 Best-Selling Luxury Vehicle Sales Numbers
This time last year, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was snapping at the heels of the Lexus RX for the top spot on the luxury vehicle countdown for April.
This year, the RX’s closest rival in terms of volume sales is still a Mercedes-Benz, but this time the high-riding C-Class-related GLC-Class sits in second.
GLC sales shot up 77.1% year-on-year, and year-to-date its sales volume has grown at an even sharper rate, which may go some way to explaining the C-Class sedan’s 35% year-to-date decline.
Similarly, the BMW X5 SUV outsold the 5-Series, as did the X3 outsell the 3-Series sedan. Mercedes-Benz’s GLE-Class had the jump on the E- and CLS-Class lines in April.
