The passenger car market overall in Canada shrunk by 6.6% year-on-year over the first six months of 2018, though for the highest-volume models in our top-20 chart below, the rate of decline was even faster.

Across the 20 top-selling passenger cars in Canada last month, sales volume for the first half of the year is down 8.3%.

Some of the growth stars from recent months fell into the red in June – the segment-leading Honda Civic among those nameplates.

The top-selling mid-size sedan defied the trend for its segment and passenger cars as a whole, increasing sales 24.9% year-on-year in June.
