Our Take On The Top 20 Best Selling Car Sales Numbers
Most passenger cars saw sales drop significantly year-on-year in August, though a few managed to splash some green across the top-20 table.
Rocketing in to the top-ten is the Tesla Model 3, with estimates for its sales boosted by the rate at which the company is producing them. Government contributions to EV sales are currently set to drop at the end of the year, so it’s likely Tesla and its customers are trying to take advantage of these before January.
With no GM figures having been reported for August (as yet) the Ford Mustang makes an appearance in seventeenth place on the back of a 35.3% year-on-year increase in sales.
