The all-around success of the automotive industry in the United States in November 2010 (full Sales Stats out soon) makes the red results in the list below a bit surprising. That said, sales of the Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet HHR are actually quite strong in context. What is that context, exactly?
These are America’s Top 10 Best-Selling American Cars in November 2010. As you can see from the horizontal arrows, the six most popular are in exactly the same place they were in October 2010. The Chrysler 300 has been booted off in favour of the Buick LaCrosse while the Chevrolet HHR took over from the Chevrolet Aveo. Perhaps Chrysler and Dodge’s revamped 2011 models will make sure they’re not absent from this list in the future. Aveo sales, by the way, were up in November; a 47.5% improvement over November 2009, a couple hundred units behind the 2011 Ford Fiesta.
But that takes away attention from the Ford atop the list. The Ford Fusion’s 28.1% bump brought it close to the Toyota Camry in November as Toyota car sales fell 18% in the United States.
