Best Selling Sporty Cars in Canada for January 2019

It was mostly good news for Sporty Cars in Canada. Most of the segments saw sales increases for the first month of 2019.
American Muscle Car sales were up considerably with the Dodge Challenger leading the way thanks to a sales increase of over 184 percent. The Chevrolet Camaro also saw a significant sales increase of over 34 percent. However, the Ford Mustang’s sales were down more than 32 percent.
European Sports Cars was the only segment to see fewer models sold overall than this time last year. The Porsche Panamera led the way, but its sales were down 20 percent. Other decreases in the segment included the Audi TT and Jaguar F-Type.
In the Misc. Sports Car segment, the Audi A5 led the way thanks to an almost 69 percent increase in sales. Several other models also saw notable sales increases, including the Lexus RC, which was up 500 percent. Volume overall for that particular car was still very low.
In the Premium Sports Car Segment, the Porsche 911 started off the year strong, leading the pack thanks to a sales increase of more than 46 percent. Another notable sales increase was the Nissan GT-R. Some models in the segment did see some significant sales decreases, though. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT saw sales drop by more than 54 percent and the Lexus LC saw sales decrease by over 62 percent.
Overall, sporty cars got off to a good start in Canada. It will be interesting to see if this continues as 2019 progresses.
