Our Take On The Sporty Cars Sales Numbers

Sporty car sales were down mostly across the board in 2018. American Muscle Cars saw declines in sales for both the year and the month of December. So did European Sports Cars, Premium Sports Cars, and Misc Sports Cars.

The Dodge Challenger saw a slight increase in sales for the year, but a decline for the month of December in the American Muscle Car segment.

Of the European Sports Car segment, only the Porsche 718 saw an increase in sales for the year. Its sales were down for December like the rest of the segment.

In the Premium Sports Car segment, there were some sales increases. The Audi R8, BMW 8-Series, BMW i8, and Porsche 911 all saw sales increases for the year and the month of December.

In terms of other Sporty cars, only the Audi A5 saw an increase in sales for 2018. However, the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Subaru BRZ both saw increases for the month of December.
