Best Selling Sporty Cars in Canada for February 2018
Here you will find the Sporty Car sales leaders in Canada for February 2018. Each month we compile the Sporty Car sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below.
Over the first two months of 2018, sales of sporty cars in Canada have increased 9.36% on the same period last year.
Only the American Muscle segment below is not posting growth on its figures from 2017 after February’s sales were reported, with the Dodge Challenger’s 16.2% decrease in sales year-on-year negating decent headway from the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang.
The Porsche Boxster and Cayman are continuing to sell well in the Euro Sports Car segment, as well as the Jaguar F-Type, pushing that corner of the market to almost 50% year-on-year growth in February despite a drop in sales for the Audi TT and Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class.
With Toyota having lifted the curtain on a race-prepped version of its new Supra at the Geneva Auto Show at the beginning of March, the current incarnation of the BMW Z4 is likely soon to disappear from the sales charts. BMW have developed the replacement for the Z4 in conjunction with Toyota on the Supra, and it is likely to go on sale later this year.
A sharp increase in sales of premium sports cars in February was once again fuelled by rapidly growing demand for the Porsche 911. A difference of 70 sales is a significant amount in premium sports car terms, and that’s just the gap between last February’s 911 sales and this February’s.
60% of premium sports cars sold in Canada to date in 2018 have been Porsche 911s, up from 38% to this point last year.
