Our Take On The Small SUV Sales Numbers

Six months in to 2018 and the small SUV market in Canada is 5.5% ahead of where it was a year ago, with study growth for the Honda CR-V making a big mark on the segment’s total sales.

For the year so far, the CR-V has a 14% market share, up from 12.5% last year, and June again saw it outpace its rivals in terms of growth and volume.

The growing tall hatch segment’s growth year-to-date is far more impressive. Strong performances from newcomers and updated models in this hotly-contested segment mean sales are up by 55.5% year-to-date.

The segment-leading Nissan Qashqai posted its best-ever month of sales in the Canadian market for the second month in a row in June.
