Our Take On The Small SUV Sales Numbers
Growth continues apace for Small SUVs in Canada. 12% growth across the segment follows on from last month’s 16.4% year-on-year increase in volume.
The Honda CR-V continues to rule the roost, with the Small SUV capturing over 15% of the Canadian market from its rivals. It is still outpaced year-to-date by the Toyota RAV4.
Japanese manufacturers dominate in the Tall Hatch and SUV Crossover stakes too, with the Subaru Crosstrek leading the way, closely followed by the Nissan Qashqai, which impressively is within 75 sales of the Subaru.
Behind those, Toyota’s foray into the smaller end of things has a way to go on 527 sales, though its addition will no doubt spur on further competition in this already hotly-contested part of the market.
